Vocal Techniques Workshop
- The Westgate School, Winchester
Claire Williams - Director
Jamal Sutton - Accompanist
Fed up of being accused of singing flat? Can’t get through long phrases? Come along to find out why!
This workshop will consist of musicianship training for aural skills and a recap of the Accent Breathing Method basics, followed by a question and answer session.
Claire will be using extracts from the music we are singing this term as part of the exercises so please bring your copies of Haydn’s Little Organ Mass. For non-members there will be music available to borrow on the day.
Claire Williams studied singing at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Having started as a chorister at Ripon Cathedral, Claire’s love for choral music has extended into her career where she has enjoyed singing for some of the country’s leading ensembles. A regular on the opera stage and with numerous projects, she has recently performed during 2019 in Shanghai, Aix-en-Provence and Athens.
Claire is vocal coach to Winchester Music Club; as well as individual coaching, she also enjoys applying workshop methods to her continual weekly work with the choir.
