The Pilgrims’ School will be hosting a large scale celebratory event in Winchester Cathedral called Vivat Regina, 31.V.12 for the Queen’s Jubilee on 31^st May at 10am. There will be a massed choir singing Zadok the Priest and I Was Glad which you are invited to join.
Rehearsals will be at The Pilgrims’ School on Tuesday evenings between 6.30-7.20pm on the following dates: 24th April, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th May (this last held in the Cathedral), and on the 31st itself at 9.20am. Attendance at all the rehearsals will not be compulsory, but it is hoped that participants will manage at least two (in addition to the 31st).

This year we really need to know in good time if we have enough participants to make the quiz viable. If you are sure now that you’d like to come please could you buy your ticket(s) before April 27th. If we don’t have sufficient interest by then we will have to cancel (all ticket monies will be refunded). If we do have enough people to go ahead then we will then continue to sell tickets, so those undecided by April 27th may still buy them at a later date.

After April 27th I will of course let everyone know here on the website whether the quiz is going ahead or not.

I’m sure there’ll be more feedback and the revue to come, but meanwhile three things:

1. The Come and Sing Bach Magnificat on 19th May – tickets are now on sale either online or from Angela. Please do come and encourage any singing friends to join in too.

2. Everything you need to know so far about performing the War Requiem is now shown on the left under ‘Our next concert: War Requiem‘ – which I’ve renamed from the previous rather plodding ‘Information on Next Concert’. It currently contains the dates of the two summer rehearsals, information on buying scores and rehearsal aids, but this list will obviously grow as we get nearer the concert.

3. A reminder from Elaine Biddle to send her information about your local parish magazine or any similar publication in which we might advertise our concerts.
Please could you help her by sending the name of your parish magazine or publication, the contact details of the editor or producer – either email or phone number, and the cost of advertising therein.
